A determined immigrant dad who arrived in the U.S. with just $100 in his pocket and the clothes on his back beamed with pride when he surprised his wife with a Tesla on their 43rd wedding anniversary. Guido and Violeta Zamalloa, who now live in Los Angeles, California, were both born in Lima, Peru, where they got together on May 1, 1981, before marrying in January 1984. Their family said there was a lot of domestic terrorism in Peru at the time, and so the couple decided to head to America for a better life quality of life for their children. Guido and Violeta arrived with a small amount of cash and no additional clothes, living in a garage and surviving off a $10,000 loan from Guido's brother as they looked to chase the American Dream. Guido worked three jobs while Violeta took care of their children, and, over time, they were able to save up enough money to rent an apartment, pay back the loan, and put a down payment on a house. But ahead of the couple's 43rd anniversary, Guido wants to do something extra special for his wife, who had been by his side every step of the way. Violeta, 60, had been admiring her son's red Tesla, and so, secretly, Guido, 64, agreed to purchase the vehicle from his son. Then, on April 28, Guido arrived with the car to surprise Vanessa, who fought back tears as her daughter, Vanessa, 26, recorded the moment.
