Short Groom Pulls Out Step Stool For First Kiss With Taller Bride

A short groom had friends and family in stitches when he pulled out a step stool on the altar for his first kiss with his much-taller bride. Kendrick Powdrill and now-wife Rachael, from Fort Worth, Texas, have never been bothered about their eight-inch height difference, despite jokes from friends. In the build-up to their wedding in Arlington, Texas, on March 8, 2025, U.S. Marine Kendrick, who is 5'5", joked he could use a step stool for his first kiss with Rachae who is 6'1". It came up again when he and his wedding planner were going through the rehearsal – and the gunnery sergeant then decided to commit to the fun surprise. On the day itself, when it was time for Kendrick to kiss his bride, one of his groomsmen pulled out the step stool from behind a bouquet of flowers, placing it on the floor next to Rachael. As the wedding guests laughed at the fun surprise, Kendrick stood on the stool, his arms outstretched, before kissing Rachael at her height.
