A commercial photographer really did make friends with the locals while on a shoot in at the Alps, when a goat joined him on a climb and licked the salt of his leg. Jake Baggaley, 36, from the South Coast of England, was in the Chamonix region, shooting projects for running and climbing brands. After a long day had wrapped up, he and his assistant, Nick, headed out to tackle one of the local via ferrata, or “iron paths,” a form of climbing where the route is pre-laid-out with metal runs, clips and hand holds placed in the rock. As the pair made their way along the exposed route, on June 28, they were joined on the final third by a goat, who they saw come around the corner a little lower down. Jake and Nick then stopped to watched as a group of goats then kept moving, only for one to head towards Nick and start licking his leg as a quick and easy source of salt. He and Jake tried their best to hold in their laughter at the once-in-a-lifetime moment, with both capturing the unique interaction on video.
