Groom Who Suffered TBI Is Determined To Walk Aisle On Wedding Day

A man who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a drunk driver refused to give up on his dream of walking down the aisle on his wedding day. Geovanni "Geo" Rosales, 30, from Los Angeles, California, was spending time with friends at a Mulholland Drive viewpoint in June 2018, when he remembered he had left his phone in the car. As he went back to retrieve the device, Geo was struck by a drunk driver, who had swerved onto the dirt area where Geo was walking. After being struck, Geo was airborne, before sliding on rocky, unpaved ground. The 30-year-old tried to communicate with friends and bystanders, but after being told to wait for paramedics, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Despite having no broken bones, he was diagnosed with having a traumatic brain injury and needed to undergo an emergency craniotomy to allow his brain to have enough space for swelling. At the time, Geo and his then-girlfriend, Kristen, had been dating for about four years, and Kristen stayed by his side while he was in an induced coma for a few weeks.
