Son Surprises Dad With Invite To Med School Graduation

A proud dad couldn’t hold back the tears when his son presented him with an invitation to his graduation from medical school - the realization of a lifelong family dream. Since he was young, Milton Henrique Vitória de Melo had dreamed of becoming a doctor, and, being an only child, his goal became the collective ambition for his hard-working family, too. Milton reveled his father, also called Milton, was there for him every step of the way - providing the best possible education conditions through high school then supporting him during entrance exams and, finally, medical school. With Milton set to graduate from Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health, in Bahia, Brazil, after six years of studying, he decided to give his father an emotional ‘thank you’. On July 8 in Salvador, Bahia, Milton Sr. was presented with the invitation to his son’s graduation, which also included a letter Milton had written to his past self, dated July 8 2015, his birthday, and ahead of when he began his medical school studies. As Milton Sr. read through the letter and invitation, he began to cry uncontrollably, the pride getting too much for him. His son later shared the video online with the hope of inspiring others.
