Shocked Mom Runs From Military Daughter During Surprise Reunion

A mom was left so shocked by her military-serving daughter's surprise at her work that she initially ran away from her, before falling to her knees sobbing tears of joy. Jayla Thompson left for basic training the day before her 18th birthday, graduating from high school a few weeks earlier and not spending her senior year summer at home. The separation between mother and daughter was extremely tough, Jayla said - a distance that felt even greater when Jayla's sister passed away and she was not able to go home because of her training commitments. When she was finally allowed to go home, though, Jayla decided to plan a big surprise for her mother, heading in through the backdoor where she worked. And as her mom laid eyes on her, she immediately screamed before running in the other direction and collapsing to the floor. The moment took place on March 16, 2021, but it wasn't until October 2022 that she shared the video on social media.
