Frozen Banana Hammers Nail Into Wood During Cold Weather
A man from the town famed for being the coldest in Minnesota has shown just how cold it is by using a banana to hammer nails into wood. Steve Branstrom lives in Embarrass, Minnesota, nicknamed ‘The Cold Spot’ as it’s the coldest place in Minnesota, boasting an Unofficial Low Temp of -64F (-53C) on February 2, 1996. He left a banana out in the bone-chilling weather which quickly hardened and was soon solid enough for him to bang a nail into a plank of wood.
