Grandmother Celebrating 95th Birthday Surprised By Granddaughter Aged 28 For First time

A beloved grandmother can’t believe her eyes during her 95th birthday celebrations as she’s surprised by her 28-year-old granddaughter she’s never met in person. One by one, family members greeted Violet Johnson, 95, before she was left in complete shock when granddaughter Tamika Madeam entered her Buffalo, New York, home on February 19. The moment itself "made my year," Tamika said, and rounded off a nine-year building process to connect with Violet and her dad's side of the family. Growing up, Tamika was raised by her single mom in Columbia, South Carolina, and didn't know much about her biological father, Fred Johnson, having only visited him in Buffalo once, when she was three years old. Then, in 2010, when Tamika was in high school, she found Fred online and realized she had another six siblings on her father's side. When her mom passed away in 2013, Fred travelled to Georgia, where Tamika now lives, to pay her a visit. For the next nine years, Tamika built bonds with her dad's side of the family, calling her grandma every year to wish her a Happy Birthday. Knowing that Violet hosts an annual birthday party, Tamika was determined to be there, but COVID impacted plans in previous years. So in 2022, having planned a surprise visit with her Aunt Karin, Tamika headed to Buffalo, where she nervously approached the house.
