When Grandpa Can't Make Quinceanera Granddaughter Surprises Him In Dress In Hospital

A beloved grandpa who suffered a stroke two weeks before his granddaughter's quinceanera was given a beautiful surprise when she turned up at his rehabilitation center in her beautiful quince dress. Juan Manuel Hernandez, from Santa Rosa, Texas, was devastated not to be attending granddaughter Gabriela's big day. Following his stroke, Juan, 70, had been hopeful of making the party in Corpus Christi, but doctors advised him and his wife that the two-hour journey would be too much, given his condition. Juan spent the two weeks after his stroke learning to walk and talk again – and during that time, Gabriela, now 15, said she struggled to enjoy her quinceanera because of her grandpa's absence. The teenager spoke to her family about how she could surprise her grandpa, and it was decided that three days after the party, they would make the 130-mile journey to go and visit him, as Juan had been moved from hospital to a rehab center by that point. On June 27, Gabriela arrived at the center, where she changed into her quinceanera dress in the back, before making her way through the corridors to her grandpa's room. Then, Juan's face lit up when he saw his granddaughter, who received compliments from members of staff about how beautiful she looked. Gabriela's cousin, Danielle Hernandez, 24, captured the moment on video, and after the surprise, Gabriela even shared a dance with her grandpa.
